While 2020 so far has been like no other year, where we have learned to stay inside, maintain social distancing and a lot more. The global markets were severely hit by the pandemic and tech industry is no exception. All the big tech events where we saw huge gatherings until the past year, opted to stream the events virtually, whether it be Apple’s WWDC or Google I/O.
In these unfavourable conditions, Google was able to introduce Android 11 Beta 1 at the right time. In February 2020, Google initially made the beta program available for all Pixel devices except the original Pixel. In the meantime, Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview) was made available for other OEMs to be tested on their devices.
Google has recently reported that the Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview) is currently running on as many as 13 devices from 7 OEMs. These OEMs include OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme, and Sharp which are further categorized into sub-brands like iQOO and POCO. It is quite certain that more devices will soon be available to join the Android Beta program and we will keep you posted of any such update.
The 13 devices from these OEMs (except Google Pixel devices) that are currently available for Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview) include:
- OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro
- Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro
- Realme X50 Pro and Realme X50 Pro Player Edition
- Vivo NEX 3S
- Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Poco F2 Pro
- Sharp Aquos Zero 2
- iQOO 3 4G/5G
