In order to improve the pace of the the Android updates, Google has introduced new algo under the name of “Project Treble”. It will allow Mobile manufacturers to provide Android updates faster to their devices as like of the Google Nexus and Pixel devices.

As we have seen since the launch of the Android that Google is fast in providing updates, but OEMs shrug off and provide updates in months. In order to reduce that time, they have changed the Android Architecture. They plan to modularise it by separating the OS framework code from “vendor specific” hardware code.

This can be said as the biggest change that Android have met in the low level system architecture. Google said it has already made the feature live on the Google Pixel’s Android O Developer Preview.

The better thing here that has happened that OEMs will be able to give updates to their devices by changing any code at their end. They can just update the Android OS framework without any additional work required from the silicon manufacturers.
