India is one of the biggest smartphone markets. A number of OEMs are trying to have a piece of this pie. Now, even Google plans to try the Indian market with their range Pixel Phones. In case you do not know, Google has been in the hardware game for a couple of years now. But, the search giant doesn’t have much brand awareness like Samsung or Apple in terms of their hardware products.
At the trade meets held in Malaysia, the US and the UK, Google shared their consumer products expansion plan where some select India retailers too attended. According to a retailer who attended the meet, Google is excited to expand their consumer products in India which will be effective due to the cheap 4G offered by Reliance Jio.
The first of these products – Google Home and Home Mini are already expected to launch in India on April 10. Followed by that, Google also plans to announce a mid-range Pixel smartphone around July-August in the country. And the third generation Pixel smartphones will arrive in India during Diwali season to boost sale figures.
Further, Google also expects to bring Pixel book and other various smart home products from Nest to India. And to make these products reach to wider consumers, Google will expand their offline presence along with much more marketing than before.
