After numerous rumours and uncountable leaks, Google unveiled the new affordable Pixel 3 a and Pixel 3a XL at Google IO 2019 conference. During the keynote session, the search giant unfurled the new devices featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 670. The Pixel 3a duo carries mid-level specs and carries familiar design like of Pixel 3 series.
The pure software optimised Pixel series added another member to its lineup with the pixel 3a series. Google used common mid-level hardware featuring Titan M security chip. Both the devices – Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are powered by Snapdragon 670 processor and a maximum 4GB LPDDR4x RAM offering 64GB internal storage. The Pixel 3a packs a 5.6-inch full-HD+ gOLED display with 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution, whereas the Pixel 3 XL has a 6-inch full-HD+ gOLED screen.
Both the devices are crafted out of polycarbonate unibody design as like of the Pixel 3 Series. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Pixel 3a series features a single 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for beautiful selfies. Both the smartphones run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and will get a minimum of 3 years of OS security upgrades.
There’s an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor on both the devices. The Pixel 3a carries a 3000 mAh battery and Pixel 3a XL shots a 3700 mAH battery. Both the devices will have an 18W fast charging technology.
Google Pixel 3a is available in the US from Google Store and other carrier networks for $399, while the larger Pixel 3a XL is available for $479. However, Google Pixel 3a case is the only accessory available as of now.
In India, both the devices will feature dual-SIM support, with an eSIM option from Airtel and Reliance Jio.
