At this point, we’ve lost track of the number of issues that have been found on the Pixel 2 line. The topic probably warrants a separate post in and of itself. One of the latest issues found was a buzzing sound in the Pixel 2. The faint but noticeable sound was clearly heard during calls on the Pixel 2. Thankfully, this is one of those problems that can be fixed via OTA. Google has just responded to these issues recently.
The Mountain View giant plans to send an OTA fix soon to the Pixel 2 to finally resolve the problem. Google’s Community manager Orrin Hancock responded posted an official announcement:
Hey all,
We’re rolling out a software update in the coming weeks which eliminates a faint buzzing sound on some Pixel 2 devices when the phone is placed to your ear during a phone call.
Thanks.
Sadly, you might have to wait until the end of November to wait for the OTA. As it is expected to arrive with the December security patch. A similar but different clicking sound problem was reported before this issue. It was on both Pixel 2 devices but that has been fixed by the November security patch.
