Google Now Launcher Officially Expired, Showing incompatible on Play Store

Earlier with the launch of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Google has introduced its first-ever launcher app termed as the Google Now Launcher. In the early phase, it was a boon for Android users. As it was the only launcher from a trusted source to offer Stock Android like experience with a vertical drawer layout. The launcher was meaningful yet practical to use. It is to inform you all Google fans that Google Now Launcher is now officially dead.

It looks like Google has decided to shut this service off, on Google Play Store the app is showing as incompatible with almost all Android devices. However, Pixelbook and Blackberry KEYone are exceptions for some reason. If you are using it then there is nothing to bother as it will not be going to disappear from your smartphone. But once uninstalled can’t be installed again from Google Play Store. It was being used by a number of smartphone users whose devices have a custom UI or running the official stock Android.

With the main focus on Google Assistant last year, Google has announced the near expiry of this launcher and as said it happens. Later with the launch of Pixel-series devices, Google has introduced the all-new Pixel Launcher. But compared to Google Launcher it can’t be officially installed on any Android device. Although sideload versions of the Pixel Launcher is available from third-party developers.

Android Apps market is always crowded and if you are looking for a Google Now Launcher alternative then hundreds are available on the Google Play Store. Some launchers that offer similar features include Nova Launcher, Evie Launcher, Action Launcher, Lawnchair Launcher, etc. Head over to Play Store and search for these launchers, all are available for free except the Nova Launcher.
