Live again from the dead end, Google has issued a major update to its Google News and Weather Android App. Yes, you got it right, the news app on the Android 2.3 devices or some updated Android ICS devices. The new look of the app brings with it a brand new card-style layout that much better fits the modern look of Android.Â
Along with the new layout many things are refined now, it has got rid from the old styled visuals of the app. Here are the other changes of the app:
- Enjoy news.google.com personalization by signing in with your Google account
- Tablet support
- Expand stories for snippets and related articles, including genres E.g. Opinion, In-depth
- Navigate sections via the menu or simple swipes
- Change editions for news in different languages and countries
- Weather and local news for multiple places
- New resizable homescreen widget
