Google Chromecast came into existence couple of years ago as a streaming device. It is quite popular in the Streaming Device category and even good news is, Google have sold around 10 million Google Chromecasts until now.
In the month of July in 21013 Google launched this most affordable streaming device with only few apps that support it. But after some time it expanded a lot and now 6,000 Android, iOS, and Chrome apps that are compatible with the Chromecast. Google is already sharing some stats on the total casts and it were 400 million in July 2014, 650 million in October, and 1 billion in late January.
Until now there’s only single version of the deice but we hope next version to hit soon. Also Google is aligning it with the Android TV to get more out of it.
