Google Chrome will get Speed Boost with a new Compression Algorithm

Google Chrome is becoming heavy and heavy day by day and consumes lots of data and storage on Smartphones and Desktops. So to address this issue Google is coming with a new Compression Algorithm for Chrome’s speed boost.

Chrome web performance engineer Ilya Grigorik posts on its Google+ account about this  news Good news, Brotli compression is coming to a Chrome browser near you! Intent to ship, with LGTMs

The new compression algorithm is named Brotli, which Google introduced last September, Chrome will be able to compress data up to 26 percent more than its existing compression engine, Zopfli, which is an impressive jump. By default, Google’s Chrome automatically downloads and installs new updates, so it’s likely that the browser will get a boost without you even noticing. It also said that Brotli could also help reduce battery use on mobile devices.
