Google is bringing stories built on AMP to search results

Its 2018 and the adoption rate of stories in various platforms is more than ever. Even now Google joins this bandwagon with their ‘AMP Stories’ in search results. In short, these stories will be similar to the ones found in Discover section of Snapchat.

According to Google, these stories may contain texts, image and even videos. Sounds familiar? Well, it’s not anything new as said earlier. It is Google’s version of Snapchat Discover but built on AMP. The Mountain View based tech giant also says that the users spend number of hours browsing articles on the web. But, they rarely engage in-depth in those articles. Thus, to eliminate this Google is bringing these stories which will contain visual treat as well as the important stuff.

As for publishers, they need not much to worry about creating these stories unless they don’t use AMP. If you are not aware, AMP(Accelerated Mobile Pages) are quicker to load are targeted towards mobile users. Today, most of the major websites uses AMP which first went public in February 2016. The Developer preview of AMP stories is available starting today and users can even try it out by visiting this link on their mobile browsers.
