Android phone for $47. Sounds unbelievable? Better believe it. Indian smartphone manufacturer Karbonn in collaboration with Flipkart is offering its A50 smartphones for as low as $47.
The device, which is being sold in two colors, namely black and white is being offered at a price of ₹2,790 which makes it the cheapest Android phone in the world. The device is exclusively launched in India in collaboration with Flipkart. The A50 offers a MediaTek SoC with dual-core 1.2GHz CPU along with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. The device has a 3.5″ screen that offers a resolution of 480×320 pixels. A 2MP shutter on the back with flash and a VGA camera on the front are being offered.
The device that comes with dual-SIM support operates on Android 4.3 jellybean instead of the new Android Kitkat which seems to be a spoiler as the Kitkat can make low-specs phones perform better. The device is now available on sale through Flipkart.
