Garmin rolled out a new beta update to the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7, and Marq 2 series smart wearables recently. The beta update includes several new features in the package. Certainly, the wearable company is now rolling out the beta firmware update to the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 series. The beta package brings a bunch of bug fixes and some new features.
Garmin announced the beta program for the Forerunner 955 series and Forerunner 255 series on its forums. The beta update comes with the 14.12 version that has been released for both smartwatches. The brand stated that it is a “Release Candidate”. To clarify, after testing this exact software version is planned to “Go Live” as a public update. All copies of version 14.12 will be identical, so there are no differences in functionality whether you install version 14.12 as a Public Release Candidate or wait for the update to be a Live public update.

The beta update will be automatically released to your watch through GCM for the public beta program members. Note that GCM will check for an available update once every 24 hours, for instance. It may take several hours for the update to finish transferring and be available on your watch to install.
