After the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, the Korean tech giant is working to unveil a new rugged tablet. So far, the upcoming Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has made an appearance on multiple certifications websites, including the Google Play List, Google Play Console, Bluetooth SIG, and GCF certification site. Now, ahead of any official announcement, the device is spotted on the FCC certification website. With all these listings, we have some key details in our hands. [August 29, 2022]: The upcoming Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has been spotted in NFC in addition to other certification sites. The listing confirms that it will feature support for NFC. Popular tipster Sudhanshu says that the device has been listed in Near Field Communication (NFC) website with model number SM-T636B. The model number found in NFC certification site matches with others.
[August 29, 2022]: In the latest development, the upcoming Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has bagged the FCC certification. The listing reveals some connectivity options onboard. The phone will come with 5G network support. Also, it will have Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g/n/ax/a/ac, GNSS, and a dedicated SD card slot to increase the external memory.
Moreover, the picture from the website confirms that the tab will carry a center aligned rear camera. Apart from this, the portal does not divulge any other details. However, the certification has pushed the device one step closer to launch.
[August 25, 2022]: On the GCF website, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G bears the model number SM-T636B. This is likely to be the Wi-Fi-only variant, while the other SM-T636N model can support both LTE and 5G. Unfortunately, besides the model number, the portal does not divulge any other essential detail. But thanks to the earlier listing, we have some other specifications in light.
According to the Google Play Console listing, the upcoming rugged tablet will offer a panel with a Full HD resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the tab will draw power from an octa-core processor based on Snapdragon 778G SoC. The CPU has four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four clocked at 1.8GHz.
Further, the chipset will be paired with Adreno 642L GPU and a 4GB RAM model. Although we can expect multiple storage options, unlike the predecessor Galaxy Tab Active 3. On the software front, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G will boost Android 12L out of the box. FYI, it is a “feature drop for Android 12” which is specially crafted for foldable smartphones and tablets.
