Samsung’s last year’s flagship S lineup duo are in for regular monthly security patches. Obviously, we have passed quite a part of June, the update is quite late. Nonetheless, it promises to patch security issues, some bug fixes and also some performance improvements.
The build number for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that are rolling out are G930W8VLS2BQF1 and G935W8VLS2BQF1 respectively. Note that the patches are for the Chinese variants.
Since the update is rolling OTA, you should see it appear soon enough. If, however, you don’t, you can always manually navigate to the Settings > About Device > Software Updates section.
As it is customary, we remind you to charge your phone properly, make sure there is enough storage space, and hook up to a reliable Wi-Fi connection. And if you are feeling extra cautious take a backup as well.
