The Galaxy J5 (SM-J500H) is receiving August Security Patch. The handset launched in June 2015 is now more than 2 years old and currently has Android Marshmallow. The latest patch is also based on Android Marshmallow. If users have updated to Marshmallow, the new patch should appear soon. The patch appears with build number J500HXXU2BQH1 and weighs little less than 100mb.
Another device that is getting the August Security Patch is the Galaxy J3 2017 (SM-J330F). The J3 2017 is a newly released device running on Android Nougat. Users should see the update with build number J330FXXU1AQH2 soon on their handsets. Both the updates contains bug fixes and system enhancements. As of now we are not sure about any new features.
The updates will be received as OTA if users are on the stock version of the software. Also, they have to be on the latest version of the OS before seeing they can see the update. Moreover, users should charge their devices adequately, and connect to a good Wi-Fi before downloading the update
