The world’s top two smartphone manufacturers are in a race to come up with their in-display hole technology. Over the past few weeks, there has been uncertainty regarding who’ll be the first to bring it to the limelight. We thought it’d be Huawei since they were quick to release the teaser of Huawei Nova 4. But, the game has changed now with Samsung prepping to unveil its Galaxy A8s on December 10.
Samsung has released a teaser featuring the Galaxy A8s and its Infinity-O display in all its glory. With the caption “Real Galaxy” the South Korean seems to throw the jab at Huawei, which released the Nova 4 teaser with similar galactic touch earlier. Nonetheless, the teaser reveals the launch date of the Galaxy A8s as 10th December in China. Literally, a week before the unwrap of Huawei Nova 4.
The Galaxy A8s is speculated to be the first Samsung device to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform. And, of course, the first of the kind with in-display camera hole. Samsung seems to have punched the hole in LCD, which is an off-tradition given the sAMOLED dominance in Samsung A-Series. Perhaps, the Infinity-O AMOLED display is reserved for the upcoming Galaxy S10’s.
