Samsung has for the past few months developed a norm of seeding latest security patch to its device(s) much earlier than Google details it. The same routine is being followed this month as well with the Galaxy A3 (2017) receiving the latest June 2018 SMR in certain Europe markets. Perhaps, the first device to get it among the whole Android siblings.
The OTA upgrade bears the build number A320FLXXU2CRE3. As you can deduce from it, the A3 (2017) units having model number SM-A320FL is getting the update. However, it won’t take considerable time for the same update to reach other Galaxy A3 (2017) bearing different model number and in different regions.
Apart from bringing the latest security maintenance release. Supposedly, the update might cater a fix for the random reboot issue that plagued some users after updating their device to Android Oreo 8.0. But, we’re not quite sure about that, however the chances are high.
The OTA update being gradually rolled out, it need not be available for every Galaxy A3 there in European markets. Well you can, if needed, trigger the “Download Updates Manually” option by heading over to Settings>>Software Updates section.
