Facebook is now testing the display ads in Messenger. By the end of this month a small percentage of users will start seeing ads in the Messenger app’s home tab. From last couple of years messaging apps are used more than the social networks. So implementing ads in messenger will be more useful for the company.
According to the source the Display advertisement will be in the inbox. The Advertisement size will depends on the dimensions of the display of the phone of user and number of chat threads.
“Expect Facebook to roll these out slowly, as they normally do, but integrate payments and M, which is what makes the Messenger platform special,” says Facebook ads expert and CTO of BlitzMetrics Dennis Yu. “This is where Facebook and Amazon compete to enable frictionless commerce, so hold onto your horses for a wild ride!”
In 2016 Facebook also tested sponsored messages. Coming back to the display ads, these ads will be shows between chat threads as shown in the photo above. We have to wait and see the how good these ads for Facebook in revenue. According to the sources Facebook will rollout display ads by the end of the this month.
