Facebook introduced Instant Games on Messenger and News Feed a year ago. Initially, the social media giant rolled out this new feature with only 20 games in 30 countries. And now after a year, they provide more than 70 games and more than 100 developers are working on it across the world. Thus, to celebrate the success and first anniversary of Instant Games, Facebook introduced live streaming, Video chat as well as some new games.
Instant Games video and live streaming features
The first new feature is live streaming which will be live starting today. Users can now easily live stream their Instant Games gameplay via Facebook live. To start a live stream, users have to tap the camera icon located at the top right corner of the game.
Tapping that icon will prompt the user to add a description to their broadcast. After adding the description, users can start live streaming by selecting ‘Start Live Video’ button. Once, the user stops live streaming, the video will be posted on their profile.
The second new feature is video chatting which will be made available early next year. The first game to utilize it will be Words with Friend. Facebook says that over 245 million people video chat every month on Messenger. Hence, they are bringing Instant Games to video chat to kill time with friends.
Last but not least, Facebook is bringing a bunch of new games to the Messenger. These games will be available in coming weeks. The new games list includes Angry Birds, Sonic Jump and Disney Tsum Tsum to name a few.
