Essential releases Android Oreo Beta 3 build over OTA

In a bid to bring the Android 8.0 Oreo to its Essential Phone PH-1, Andy Rubin’s company is now rolling a new update. Essential is releasing the Android Oreo beta 3 build for the device. It seems to be the last beta build and stable build is now going to be available very soon.

Essential Android Oreo beta 3 brings many changes and most of them are bug fixes. The beta program is available for all the users who have opted for the beta updates before.

Talking about he changes, it brings most of the misc stability and bug fixes. The new features that have been included are smart text selection, faster startup and app sign-in. Further, it has incorporated Google Play Protect security scans. Essential has even patched the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities in this update.

Essential Phone Android beta builds come up with long changelogs as it packs most of the fixes and new features. When one feature gets stabilized, Essential brings other features and test them for any bugs. The newer the build more will be the bugs, but after 2nd or 4rd build it starts getting stable.

In order to get the latest Android Oreo build, you need to be on the previous build. Other wise, you have to download the new build manually and have to flash it. Recently, the Essential phone has received a December security patch.
