Display
Display is the only aspect where a user directly interacts with the device. Almost all the time user give commands to the device via this new input device. In order to make flagship device a hit, OEMs give most of the attention to make display better and best.
Starting with Essential Smartphone, it carrier the maximum screen to body density ratio of above 90%. By holding this device, you will only see display despite of anything else. As its front side packs the huge 5.71 Full HD display. It’s a smaller screen with a bigger display. It is similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which packs screen body density ratio of 91%.
If we talk about the Galaxy S8, LG G6 and HTC U11, they pack better and higher densities in comparison with the other devices available in the market. But still they are far behind the 90% mark. LG touted, LG G6 as a bigger display with smaller size but now the Essential launch is contradicting it.
Well, it seems Essential is getting the best display badge with 500 nits of brightness.
Hardware
All the devices, are powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest offering i.e. Snapdragon 835, except the LG G6. The LG flagship gets it power from the Snapdragon 821 with 4GB of RAM. Further, if we talk about the HTC U 11, then it packs the Snapdragon 835 with 4/6GB of RAM, similar is the case ith Galaxy S8.

All, the devices seems to give high end performance as they are loaded with huge RAM configuration along with the latest Qualcomm processors.
Design
The design configurations are different for all devices. Essential Phone carries a flat brick type of design with Titanium build. It is believed t be much better, light and resilient material than steel.
All other, devices like Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC U11 and LG G6 powers Aluminium build which are little slippery also.
Essential measures 141.5 X 71.1 X 7.8 and weighs 185 Grams. It weighs little more than the other smartphones as they measures between 155-166 grams. It seems that it is weighing more due to titanium use.
Camera
Camera is another thing that a new generation looks while buying a new device. If the camera quality is poor then it does not get much popular.
Nowadays, dual cameras are in trends. So many OEMs are using those in their flagships. Similar is the situation with the Essential Phone.
Essential Phone packs dual 13 MP + 13MP camera on the back with image fusion technology. The one lens is monochrome sensor and other RGB. The color sensor is behind a bright f/1.85 lens and with help from the mono sensor, it offers telephoto, bokeh and 13MP “true monochrome” modes.
The HTC U11 packs a 12-Megapixel of primary camera and 16-Megapixel secondary camera for selfies and video chats. The primary camera is capable of 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps, HDR, 24-bit/192kHz stereo sound and video recording.
The Galaxy S8 camera uses the 12MP Dual Pixel sensor from the S7 but with improved software – it captures multiple exposures to raise image quality (sounds a lot like Google’s HDR+). The selfie cam did get a hardware upgrade, it now has an 8MP sensor and autofocus (with clever face detection).
LG comes with 13 MP and 13 MP Dual camera on the back and 5MP Wide camera on the front. The Dual-camera consists 13-megapixel shooters with 125-degree viewing angle and F2.4 aperture). The other features are Optical image stabilization, Autofocus, CMOS image sensor.
So it seems Essential is giving more details on the paper. Let’s see how actual photos will look.
