EMUI 8.0 was first announced with the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro which was launched while back in October. The great thing about EMUI 8.0 is that it is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. And now, it is available for Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Edition in China.
However, the update is not available as OTA. If you are interested in this new version of EMUI, you will have to download it from the official site. Then, install it manually via PC. Though it is a tedious work, but worth doing it as the update brings lots of new features and functionalities.
The new features include dynamic wallpapers, PC mode which enables to convert your smartphone into desktop PC via USB cable (even mouse and keyboard can be connected via Bluetooth), smart split screen, some AI features which allocates resources to mostly used apps, Picture in Picture mode and other Android Oreo features.
The update is available for the following Mate 9 variants in China:
- Mate 9 MHA-AL00
- Mate 9 Full Netcom Version MHA-TL00
- Mate 9 Pro Full Netcom Version LON-AL00
- Mate 9 Porsche Edition
We hope, soon it will be made available in other countries also.
