DropBox Updated with Auto Import Feature: Enables Users to Earn Extra Space Upto 3 GB

In Order to compete with Google Drive, Dropbox today updated its application. The PC and Mac utility was in beta until now and automatically uploads photos to a private Camera Uploads in your Dropbox account once you connect a camera, smartphone, tablet or SD card. There’s also a version of the feature incorporated in Dropbox’s Android app.

“Getting pictures off your camera has always been a huge pain,” Dropbox Software Engineer wrote in a blog post. “So we put our heads down and worked worked worked to ensure that automatic upload would play nicely with anything that might have a photo or video on it. With the newest version for Mac or Windows, you can just plug your camera, phone, or SD card into your computer, and with a few clicks of the mouse all your photos and videos are in your Dropbox.”


This latest news, of course, comes as Google Drive is taking the lion’s share of the cloud headlines. Because of the increasing pressure, Dropbox has been working around the clock to optimize and refine its experience. Dropbox promises to increase a user’s free storage by 500MB as a reward for using the auto-upload feature for the first time. Moving forward, every time you upload an additional 500MB of photos and videos using the auto-upload feature, you’ll gain another 500MB of free space up to a maximum of 3GB
