Samsung has recently refreshed its ‘A’ series with the Samsung Galaxy A52s. It is a mid-range and premium mid-range series offering affordable smartphones. The latest smartphone is an upgrade for the Galaxy A52 5G that was unveiled in 2020. However, the new device comes with an upgraded chipset and a better display. Other specifications of the device remain the same as its predecessor. We will be comparing Galaxy A52s with Motorla Edge (2021), which was announced back in August 2021. Both carry some common specifications, and there are some differences too. So, let us compare the similarities between Motorola Edge (2021) vs Samsung Galaxy A52s.
Both smartphones come with the same processor, i.e. with the latest Snapdragon 778G chipset. The chipset is built on the 6nm process and pairs with the Adreno 642L GPU. Both have a top-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, the top-end model of Samsung is limited to few parts of the world. Samsung allows expanding the storage while Motorola doesn’t. The Motorola Edge (2021) and Samsung Galaxy A52s runs on Android 11 out of the box. However, the Motorola smartphone runs on Stock Android while the latter runs on OneUI 3.1. Both devices also come with a plastic back and have Corning Gorilla Glass protection to the front. But it’s Samsung which leads here by providing an IP67 rating. Further, both devices boast the same connectivity options: WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C 2.0, NFC, and much more.
Both these devices have more differences than similarities. Say for the display, Motorola features a 6.8″ LCD display with a massive refresh rate of 144Hz, while, the Korean Giant brings a 6.5″ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and can blow up to 800 nits brightness. To the biometrics, Moto has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Samsung features an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other differences are listed in the below table.
