CAT is known worldwide for its heavy construction and earth moving machinery. But few happen to know that is is also a smartphone maker. And going by their legacy, their devices can sure take a beating and much more.
On its birthday, CAT has unveiled a new ‘Built for it’ video to show what their device the CAT B15 can go through. The video shows the device surviving a 30 foot fall into a puddle of water and then another fall of the same height onto the ground. This was followed by 600 live phones being run over by the CAT 277D, a 4 tonne earth moving machinery. And after going through all the hard pounding, the phones still kept ticking.
But for all the people for whom just taking the beating is not enough, the phone fails to impress by a huge margin. The phone runs on a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek MT6577 processor and sports a 4-inch screen. The phone is not everybody’s choice, its target audience being people who work on construction sites. With the phone now a year old, we’re hoping for a upgraded version.
