The BlackBerry PRIV is receiving another periodic maintenance update from Verizon. Specifically, it is just the June security patch which packs some security patches and fixes. The BlackBerry PRIV launched in November is a device with a curved display and a slide-out QWERTY keypad. As such it is the best of both the worlds for BlackBerry users.
The build number AAL 748 is now on they way for many users and it is just 126.7 MB in size.
The security patch, as you may know, prepares the device to handle the security loopholes that can’t be utilized by malware & malicious software. Moving along, the update adds performance and stability to the OS as well.
The update won’t weigh much as it is just a security patch but it would be advisable to charge up your phone well so it doesn’t die before the update as that might soft brick your phone. Also, get a stable Wi-Fi to stick to. And then go ahead with the patch.
Similarly, Verizon rolled out the May Security patch for the BlackBerry as build AAL202.
Currently, the update is seeding to most of the users, it may reach you in a day or two. You can also manually check for the update by hitting the Check for update option in the About menu of Settings panel.
