Google has recently announced the all-new Android Pie version. The first official Android Pie update is now available for all the Pixel-series devices. Google may take a while to roll out the OTA update but one can easily use it through manual installation method. Manual installation is the best method for those who just can’t wait for the OTA to arrive. This update brings a noticeable improvement to the Pixel-series of devices, however, it is worth noting that Essential is the first one to start the official OTA rollout for its PH-1 model. So without making any delay let’s know more about it.
The new build brings a couple of new features and fixes including the Bluetooth car audio fix and more. Though it is sad to know that there is no mention of fast charging fix on first generation Pixel devices. For installing the OTA a user doesn’t need to have an unlocked device bootloader. However, it does require the current official build. For second-generation Google Pixel devices, there is only one build option while for the first generation Pixels separate version based on distinct carriers are available.
As revealed through the September 2018 Pixel/Nexus bulletin following are the security patches coming out this month for the devices:
- An improved battery in retail mode Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL.
- Improves SW version reporting Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL.
- Improves Bluetooth audio quality for car speaker Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL.
