Finally, Xiaomi has officially launched the much rumored Android One based Xiaomi A1 in India. For a quite while, the device has been a main ingredient in the rumor-mill. Surprisingly, all those rumors proved to be ditto true. As expected, Xiaomi A1 is special as it is the first Xiaomi device to run stock Android OS. Contrary to all those MiUI skinned devices by the company so far. Yeah, that’s an Android One device is all about.
Flaunting a dual-camera sensor. Mi A1 in a sense is an exact xerox copy of the Xiaomi Mi 5X, which was launched in China recently. Except the fact that Mi A1 runs Vanilla Android instead of the traditional MiUI on Mi 5X.
Mi A1 For the first time bringing its dual-camera featuring smartphone to India. Definitely, the dual-camera ought to be the main selling point of this device. Comprising of 12MP wide-angle lens coupled with 12MP telephoto lens, the dual-camera promises a brilliant low-light photography.
Pure Android Nougat 7.1.2 will be pre-installed on the device. Furthermore, Xiaomi has planned an upgrade to Android Oreo 8.0.1 in near future.
The Android One smartphone is due to go on sale from September 12 in India. The device is rated at a price of Rs.14,999. As in most of the case, it will be available across mi. com and the e-commerce retailer Flipkart online. The device will also be made available offline in various Xiaomi Mi Home outlets.
Mi A1 is available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour. The first sale of the device on mi. com hits at 12pm on September 12.
