Android One has come to light that Micromax, Karbonn, and Spice will be the first to launch products based on it in India next month. The Android One handset that might be available to buy in India next week features dual SIM capabilities, a 5 MP rear camera, and a 1700 mAh battery. Other features could include 1 GB of RAM, a quad-core processor, expandable internal memory, a screen of at least 4 inches, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
Android One handsets will cost between 7,000 and 10,000 INR ($115 – $165). The are varied because the Android One is set for Minimum Hardware specs but manufacturers are using much better specs then that so there’s a minimal hike in the price.
“Android One is setting minimum hardware and software standards for the three vendors, who are adding or improving upon them in future devices under the Android One umbrella,”
Further to add something new, it’s said that Android One smartphones will be updated to Android L in October.
“Advantages of screen size and Google updates could make a difference to these smartphones offering better performance to what Indian buyers are accustomed to,” said PwC India’s Mohammad Chowdhury.
