More and more evidence is coming out pointing to Android’s next version being called Oreo. The name “Oreo” would also allow Google to keep its tradition of keeping a sweet dish as the name of its OS. All earlier versions have been named after some sort of sweet treat. Whether that be Nougat, ot Marshmallow, or Lollipop or Jellybean or something else.
Now, we have Evan Blass doing what he does best, providing us a clue to what Google has in mind. Blass, posted an image on Twitter, of a flying Android mascot that has an Oreo biscuit stuck to its chest. Now, this isn’t anything official but looking at Blass’ credible record with leaks, we have reason to believe Android O will be Oreo. Besides, it looks much cooler than the weird “Octopus” or “Orangina”.
Blass also leaked another image two days ago that showed the same biscuit covering the moon. We know its supposed to be a Solar Eclipse but that is what the image looks like. At the time of this writing, there are just 14 hours to wait before the well-guarded secret is revealed. There is also news that Nexus and Pixel devices will be getting Android 8.0 soon after the launch.
