Google has presented Android P for the first time back in the month of March, since then they have introduced a number of revisions to the developer preview ROM. Today finally Google has revealed the official name of the Android 9 and it is known as the Android Pie. The preview build of the ROM was available for several devices like Essential PH-1, OnePlus 6, etc but the official name of the version wasn’t confirmed. Finally, people can call it the Android 9 Pie, so let’s check out some more detailed info about it.
Android P was having a number of rumored names like Pineapple, Pistachio, etc before the official announcement but Google has kept it subtle and is known as the Android Pie. Rather than the Android 9.0, Google is gone with the Android 9 choice. A majority of devices are still relying on Android Marshmallow, Nougat and Oreo so it is still a question that when all major handsets will get an update to the Android P. While disclosing the new version of Android Google has showcased some great features like “Swipe navigation system”, “Predictive app actions and more”.
The Android P rollout for Pixel and the Essential phone has already started. The users on Beta will get the Android P first. A lot of major features like Digital Wellbeing package is still not present in the update and Google is working on it some new plans. Features like Digital Wellbeing will first be made available to Google Pixel devices and then will roll out to others. For more Android updates Stay tuned to GoAndroid.
