Amazon’s Chromecast Competitor Fire Stick Launched For $39: Now Available For $19

Amazon has launched the HDMI streaming video dongle, Fire TV Stick to compete with Google’s Chromecast And Roku stick. Currently, the Fire TV stick is available for $39 but Amazon Prime users can get the Fire TV Stick for just $19 for the next two days.

Detailing about the Amazon Fire TV, it consists User Interface similar to the Amazon’s Fire TV Set UP Box. It connects to an HDMI port on the back on an HDTV and streams from sources including Netflix to Hulu Plus to, of course, Amazon’s own Prime Instant Video. The Fire TV Stick has a dual-core processor (Broadcom Capri 28155, dual-core 2xARM A9), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 3.0 and dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi (MIMO). It is better than Chromecast and Roku in comparison  with the CPU. Herre’s What Amazon is saying about Amazon Fire TV stick:

Fire TV Stick has 50% more processing power and 2x the memory of Chromecast; it has 6x the processing power, 2x the memory, and 32x the storage of Roku Streaming Stick—this results in faster and more fluid navigation, plus more storage for apps and games. It delivers stunning 1080p HD video and immersive audio with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. All of this power comes in an incredibly small package—Fire TV Stick is the size of a pack of gum.

That’s a tiny bit more expensive than the Chromecast ($35), but it’s still cheaper than Roku’s dongle ($50).
