Google is wondering us with many new things like Google Assistant, Google Home and now Allow, a new messaging app at Google IO 2016. In latest, Google has launched Allo, it’s an AI based messaging app.
As Erik Kay, a Google engineering director, points out on stage, Allo is a smart messaging app that “learns over time” to make conversations easier and more productive.
Allo can also make reservations for restaurants, if you want to meet up with friends. It can find sports scores, show you the roster of players; basically, a lot of what Google Search can do.
It will not allow you to add smileys and emoticons, it will bring real emotions to the messaging app. It is quoted that:
Allo, a smart messaging app supercharged with machine learning and Google’s new Google Assistant service (its answer to Google’s Alexa), giving users the ability not just to chat to each other with animated graphics and enlarging/shrinking text, but to call in Google (and later other third-party apps) to share media, plan events, buy things, and even think of what to say to each other.
Google’s chatbot is smarter than other chatbots. It has the power of Google’s Knowledge Graph, which understands many thousands of “entities” and how they relate to each other.
