Being the number one player in the mobile SoC industry, Qualcomm has to update their products frequently to maintain their position. It is merely a year since the firm announced Snapdragon 710 and they have already announced the new Snapdragon 712. This new mobile platform is a more refined version of its predecessor with some minor improvements.
Just like its predecessor, the Snapdragon 712 is manufactured on a 10nm process. It also consists of the same 8x Qualcomm Kryo 360 CPU but clocked at 2.3GHz rather than 2.2GHz. The only differences between both are the addition of Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus technology, Qualcomm Broadcast Audio technology, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology in the latter model. Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 712 is 10% more powerful than its predecessor.
Other than the above-mentioned dissimilarities, the new Snapdragon 712 shares the same specifications with the Snapdragon 710. It features the same Adreno 616 GPU, Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP, Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, Bluetooth 5.0, and Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP.
