Companies do weirder stuff to promote their products over the competitors’. And we have seen them over years such as Samsung’s recent ‘Ingenius’ campaign trolling Apple. Now, POCO by Xiaomi joins the bandwagon by mocking its competitor none other than OnePlus.

POCO India calls their campaign #DoTheMath where they compare the price of the POCO F1 with the OnePlus 6T. The POCO F1 starts at INR 21,999 in the country, whereas the OnePlus 6T starts at ₹37,999 touting the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. In another tweet, POCO asks the fans that what would they do with the extra ₹17,999. Not only that, but POCO also compares the specifications of the POCO F1 with the OnePlus 6T in a series of tweets.
This kind of marketing campaigns are not new and they won’t go away just like that. And not all these campaigns make sense. Though POCO F1 is cheaper with almost the same specifications as the OnePlus 6T, it does have some shortcomings. Such as an LCD display, plastic body, availability, and others. On the other hand, OnePlus 6T comes with a much better AMOLED display with under display fingerprint sensor, wider availability and carrier support, premium glass design and others.
Now, that doesn’t mean the POCO F1 is inferior to the OnePlus 6T. You get what you pay for when we compare these two brands. However, whatever you pay there is ‘no perfect smartphone’.
