The American firm has made sure that the users get up to date software updates that further enhances the gaming power as well as the overall smartphone experience. In fact, the Razer Phone was among the first few to receive the Android Oreo 8.1 update. Now, a new update is falling on the device bringing couple of new features and improvements.
The OTA update weighs in at around 366MB in size. Quite notably, a new Portrait Mode is coming to the Razer Phone that can produce excellent portrait shots with the Razer cameras. On the changelog as you can see, there is a mention regarding changes to the Privacy Policy that Razer has adopted in compliance with the GDPR.
As far as the security fixes are considered, the Razer Phone is getting the latest SMR dated as 1st May, 2018. Well, the update do caters some bug fixes and other minor improvements. Moreover, support for “Recent Apps Lock” is another addition to the already existing plenty of software features on the device.
By now, the update must be available to the every Razer Phones that went on sale. If not visible, no need to panic as in coming days the update notification will pop up on your device as well. However, you may trigger the update check manually by heading over to the system update section.
