Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is all set to introduce a series of smart home devices powered by Google Assistant to the United States. The company will be launching at least 3 smart devices which include Mi Bedside Lamp, Mi LED Smart Bulb and Mi Smart Plug. During Google I/O 2018, Xiaomi has announced that their smart home products will be compatible with the Google Assistant.
While Xiaomi is still finding ways to enter smartphone market in the US, bringing smart home products with Google Assistant support will surely prove to be a stepping stone. Initially, the company will be introducing Xiaomi Mi Bedside Lamp, which may be available for sale sometime in May followed by other two products, which will be launched later in the coming months.
The company did not disclose any details on the pricing of upcoming products, though we expect them to be priced aggressively as a new entrant.
According to Xiaomi, Mi Bedside Lamp comes with 16 million color customizations. As a result, it can be customized to fit any environment or mood. It also includes a touch-sensitive panel at the top and with the help of Mi Home app, users can now control Mi Bedside Lamp using their voice via Google Assistant.
Mi LED Smart Bulb can also be customized to add variety of color options to your room, as it offers support of up to 16 million colors. You need not get out of bed to turn off the lights and can also control brightness and color temperature verbally with the help of Google Assistant.
Using Mi Smart Plug, you can turn any product to a smart device. With the help of Mi Home app or your voice command using Google Assistant, you can turn power on and off for your non-smart devices.
