At the beginning of this year, Google unified Android Pay and Google Wallet under the Google Pay branding. The same started rolling out to users in the regions like US and the UK late last month. Now, the ability to send money via Google Pay directly from Google Contacts is being rolled out to some users.
How to send money via Google Contacts
To send money directly from Google contacts, open the recipient’s contact and you will see the new Send option with a dollar symbol. Tapping on that will prompt you to send money to which number or email. After selecting the desired one, a Google Pay dialog box will open prompting you to enter the amount to send. That’s it, enter the amount and hit the Send Money option.
But, this feature is currently being rolled out and there are fewer chances that you might find it in your Google Contacts app. Also, note that this is a server-side update, but do make sure to have the latest version of the Google Contacts from the Play Store to use this new feature.
