Facebook Messenger Lite is the stripped down version of the regular Messenger app by Facebook. As the name suggests, the lite version weighs less in size and thus it only features some important core features. And now after one year of availability, the app is finally getting the video chat feature.
Facebook took to their blog to announce the addition of this new feature. According to the social network giant, 17 billion video chats were made on the Facebook Messenger app only in the year 2017. Which is double the number when compared to the year 2016. The company also says the video chat feature on the Messenger lite app will work even at lower internet speeds.
To use the video chat feature on Messenger lite app, you must have the latest version of the app installed on your Android device. In case you do not have it, update the same from the Play Store now. However, the availability of the new version varies from region to region. Now, once you have the latest version, open any conversion and tap on the video chat icon located at the top right corner to call the person. Even, the users can switch to video chat when on audio chat by simply tapping the respected icon present in the bottom right corner.
In case you do not know, the Messenger lite recently hit the 100 million downloads milestone. The app weighs less than 10 MB and is highly recommended for devices with lower specifications and slow connections.
