Google’s Pixel 2 XL and the Pixel 2 are under heavy fire right now for quality issues with the display panel. Particularly, the Pixel 2 Xl has been reported to have burn-in issues, colour smearing, image retention and blue tint problems lately. We suggest potential buyers hold up as long as Google doesn’t come clean on this issue. For those, who already have one of the two new Pixel 2 duo, it also exhibits less vibrancy in colours.
The new Google phones show sRGB colours despite being very capable of using the DCI-P3 colour gamut which is favoured by many. Thus, many Pixel 2 owners have complained of the muted colours on their phones as compared to other flagships. The app comes with two modes. A standard mode and a performance mode that is more reliable for games. Since the performance mode actively updates any and all colours on the screen while the standard mode only updates parts of the display.
