Xiaomi just quietly released a new variant of the Mi 5X that was released some weeks earlier. There is nothing to be very excited about though. As there are just one or two differences between the two variants. The new variant comes with 32 GB of storage while the earlier one has a 64 GB variant. Also, with the ROM decrease comes a lower price tag of 1299 yuan ($195). That is down from the 1499 yuan ($225) asking price of the 64 GB model.
Rewinding back the clock a few days earlier, we revisit the specs of the phone. Xiaomi has upped the ante in design with the latest launched phone. But, It is a lot iPhone-like to be completely honest. That aside, the phone still provides great build quality with the price at which it is offered. The phone has really subtle antenna lines and of course that dual camera. Xiaomi in keeping the fingerprint at the back has merely continued its own tradition.
In terms of machinery, the front is occupied by a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Below that are the navigational keys. The smartphone’s brain is the Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The new dual camera has Two 12-megapixel snappers (f/2.2 and f/2.6 aperture, respectively with 2x optical zoom. The front has a 5 MP sensor. Xiaomi also took the wraps off the MIUI 9 OS that comes with the phone.
