It was most recently reported that the OnePlus 5 among a few other Android phones based on AOSP were entering into a reboot when 911 was dialed. This was a serious issue especially considering the fact that the phone rebooted during an emergency period. A lot of OnePlus 5 users are concerned about this issue.
After much speculation, OnePlus 5 has finally announced a statement today stating that they have been in touch with a customer and have tested a software update. It has apparently resolved the 911 reboot issue in the OnePlus 5 devices that had faced this problem.
OnePlus will be rolling out this software update to its OnePlus 5 users very soon. It was also reported that OnePlus indeed contacted the said user about this issue and provided him with a custom update file to fix this. The user had installed it on his device and found that the issue had been resolved.
