Some days back AT&T started pushing the May Security patch to latest Samsung devices like the Galaxy S7 and all its variants. While yesterday 4 other Samsung devices namely the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5 received the updates as well. Now we have the Galaxy S6 Active in line for the latest security patch. The update is rolling out to devices OTA as we speak.
The security patch will be visible to S6 Active users as a software version G890AUCU6DQE1. Security patches usually aren’t big in size and they require less storage space. Their main function is to patch the weaknesses in your device that hackers might be able to make use of. It also contains some bug fixes to known issues as well as performance improvements. This update is only 15 Mb in size.
As always, take care to backup your important data, get your phone charged up to 50% for any unforeseen accidents and you should be good to go. As for those who can’t wait for the update, they should head to Settings » Software update to look manually.
