India is going to organise its own Mobile Congress in September this year. The main focus of India Mobile Congress is to reach out to the South East Asian markets. The Event will be driven by Cellular Operators Association of India. Moreover, Department of Telecom and Ministry of Electronics and IT has also shown interest in the Indian Mobile Congress.
“There is Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and an edition in Shanghai. There is nothing in between for South East Asia. India is emerging as one of the global leaders in telecom which we will also showcase in the Indian Mobile Congress,” COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews
India Mobile Congress (IMC) will be a three day event September 27-29 in the country’s capital city, New Delhi at Pragati Maidan. The GSM Association will organise IMC Event, As GSM Association organises the two editions of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and the other in Shanghai, China(earlier named as Mobile Asia Expo).
COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews Says that all the Indian mobile operators, Facebook, Huawei, Ericsson, Cisco etc are likely to participate in the India Mobile Congress (IMC). The event will be a very good platform for domestic smartphone manufacturers and the Chinese manufacturers.
