Google Daydream View is the Visual reality platform for the company. It was announced in Google I/O 2016 back in may last year. Google Daydream is the next step form Google Cardboard. It will also gives the tough competition to the expensive stuff like HTC Vive and Oculus. Google launched both controllers and VR headsets in October 2016 and it is now available to buy from various online retailers.
However, The platform is included in Android Nougat, but will only be available on phones that meet certain specs, to be released over the coming months. So here we make a list of Android phones which have Google Daydream Support.
Google Pixel
Google Pixel features a 5 inch display, It is packed with the latest Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM. The device packs 32/128 GB of internal storage. It packs with 12 MP of primary camera on the rear and 8 MP secondary camera at the front for selfies. The Google Pixel consists of Li-Ion 3450 mAh battery capacity. It runs on the Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. It also Supports the Google Daydream platform out of the box.
Google Pixel XL
The only difference both these phones is its display. Google Pixel features a 5 inch display where as Pixel XL features a 5.5 inch display. All the other specs are identical to each other.
Moto Z
Lenovo has rolled out Android Nougat update which also includes the Google Daydream support for Moto Z. It is packed with a Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 flagship chipset running things, paired to 4GB of (DDR4) RAM. It is available in two storage options 32GB to 64GB (market dependant), both of which also accommodate microSD cards up to a massive 2TB on top.
Moto Z Force
Along with Moto Z company also rolls out Android Nougat update with Google Daydream Support to its Moto Z Force. Both these Moto Z and Moto Z Force becomes the first to get the Google Daydream Support after Google’s Pixel phones. For a reminder, Motorola Moto Z Force is powered by 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. The Motorola Moto Z Force runs Android 6.0.1 and is powered by a 3500mAh non removable battery
Moto Z Force Droid
Moto Z Force Droid also gets the Google Daydream Support according to the Google Daydream Official webpage. It is packed with 5.5 inch 2560×1440 pixels resolution AMOLED. The phone is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB /64GB storage options. It is packed with 21 megapixel f/1.8 aperture primary camera and 5 megapixel f/2.2 front camera.
Asus Zenfone AR
Asus Zenfone AR is Google Daydream ready phone out of the box. It is launched at CES 2017 and will be available soon. ASUS Zenfone AR is a Google Tango enabled phone. In detail it is packed with a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset aided by a whopping 8GB of RAM – a world first.There’s a great shooter of a 23 MP from Sony on the rear with OIS, EIS, and 4K video recording. There’s also a extra Tango sensors of a motion tracking camera and depth-sensing camera. The company has opted for a 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 85-degree wide angle lens. The phone comes in 32/64/128 or 256GB of UFS 2.0 storage Variants and it also have a MicroSD slot.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro
Huawei has launched its Mate 9 Pro in CES 2017 for US. But the company does not give the Google Daydream support, But we assume that Huawei Mate 9 Pro will get Daydream support in a month or so.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor whic is paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro packs a 20-megapixel primary camera and a 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9
Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 is launched in November 2016. It will get the Google Daydream support very soon. It is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor and it comes with 6GB of RAM. The phone packs 256GB of internal storage cannot be expanded. Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 runs Android 7.0 and is powered by a 4000mAh non removable battery.
ZTE Axon 7
ZTE Axon 7 will also get Google Daydream support very soon. The phone is packed with 5.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, Snapdragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU. The Zte Axon 7 is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256 GB via Micro SD card. The is phone is packed with 20 MP primary camera and 8 MP secondary camera. ZTE Axon 7 runs on Android 6.0.1 marshmallow out of the box, but it will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat very soon.
LG V30
LG V30 is the new device which will support the Daydream view VR technology. The device will come u with a 6 inch bezel with a OLED FullVision display. The device will also have a built in Google Assistant and along with this a second year promise from LG. The device has a 3,300 mAH battery and 4GB RAM. Along with the V30 will come with a 64GB internal memory and on the other hand V30+ with 128GB internal memory. The camera is also pretty good, it is 16MP rear camera and 5MP front.
