The Android Wearable segment is currently dominated by Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch which will start shipping in 10 days. The Motorola Moto 360 is going to follow though we have no idea when is that going to be. Many more smartphone manufacturers are planning to bring out their Android based wearables this year but Asus seems to be too eager.
According to sources at TechCrunch, Asus is gearing up bring out an Android based smartwatch that will be priced somewhere between $99 and $149. This low price could be the main selling point for the smartwatch, but since we have no news about the specs of the smartwatch, we cannot say for sure. Rumors claim the Asus smartwatch could be launched at IFA in Berlin in September.
The Asus smartwatch will reportedly have an AMOLED screen, much like the Gear Live but nothing else is known about it.
Asus has been around in the Android scene for some time now, popular for bringing out affordable smartphones with amazing specs. Will this smartwatch too follow in Asus’s smartphone’s footsteps and impress us?
