Best Announcements From Google IO 2014 Until Now

Google IO 2014 is going on and until now we have got many new products, services and upgrades. Yesterday, lot of announcements were made and out them many were the best. Google cooked up all the things under one roof – They announced 3 new crafted versions of Android – Android Auto, Android Wear and Android TV. All the things are ready to shook the world.

Starting with Android L, Google yesterday previewed the Android L with all the new design and features.

Android L Features

Material Design:

Its visualizations are based on Material Design which is new design language developed by Google. “Our material is grounded in tactile reality, inspired by our study of paper and ink, yet open to imagination and magic,” says Google on the new design language. It’s simpler, brighter, and clearer. And that’s important, because it’s going to appear on a far broader number of gadgets than any other UI in history.

Project Volta: 

Volta is a data-heavy way to help boost your battery life and give you insight into what’s draining your mobile device’s juice. Further it consists of three features:

  • Battery Historian
  • Improving battery consumption within apps
  • Battery Saver mode

More Secure and malware protection

Android Extension Pack:

It offers what Google claims are “PC gaming” capabilities on high-end smartphones and tablets.

ART Runtime:

It is a a cross-platform runtime that supports ARM, X86, and MIPS simultaneously. The main purpose of ART is to improve performance and smoothness of the core Android platform and stock apps, and third-party Android apps.


Android Wear

Its the Android version built for Wearables like Smartwatches. This one is the biggest launch of Google IO 2014 as it was in rumors from couple of Months. There were many misconceptions from rumors about the Android Wear but after the Yesterday’s announcement everything has cleared. Android Wear comes packed with ability to hold many sensors, run applications on small screen by calibrating with the Sensors.

Android TV

Android TV is refreshed version of Android OS for better Television experience with lots of Android features embedded in it. Android TV is based on the new Android L operating system.

Android Auto

Android Auto uses an Android device as the processing unit for in-dash system controlled navigation unit. Also it can manage more things like Music and Messaging on the go while driving.

Audi has confirmed the use of Android Auto in the cars from early 2015. Along with Audi Google has tied up with Mazda, Ford, Subaru, Volkswagen and others for Android Auto Use.


 

Android One

Android One, a new type of phone that is similar to Nexus devices in that all of the software comes directly from Google. Android One, Google is hoping to reduce the cost of smartphone development by identifying the components that go into a smartphone and to pre-qualify suppliers for those parts to ensure they work together for the developing markets like India.

The Micromax smartphone from Android One will cost under $100 – cheaper than the Motorola Moto E. The new smartphone also packs a 4.5″ display and there are no other details revealed about the device.

The first smartphone to be part of the Android One comes from Micromax, one of the most popular smartphone brands in India. Micromax, Karbonn and Spice are the partners of Google for this Program in India.
