Chineese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has claimed that it received 15 million pre-orders for its upcoming 5.5″ smartphone, the ReMi Note. This surely shows people’s huge interest in the Chinese smartphone.
Talking of its specs, the phone runs on a MediaTek’s octa-core MTK6592 processor. It will be available in 2 variants: 1.4GHz processor with 1GB RAM or 1.7GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. To add to it, the device boats of a large 5.5″ IPS display. Dual SIM support and a 3200mAh battery are some of its other features. The phone will be available with 8GB of internal storage with an external microSD card slot. The two RAM variants will be available for different prices, the 1.4GHz,1GB RAM model available for $129 and its more powerful version for $159.
A tweet earlier by Xiaomi that said the company had recieved 122 million pre-orders, which was later corrected to 15 million. The company is now being led by ex-Google and ex-Android lead Hugo Barra who quit his previous post to lead Xiaomi. The pre-orders are in huge numbers considering the company currently operates only in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
