According to Wall Street Journal Google would be launching a cloud storage service in the coming weeks. Also a reader of Geekwire has sent in what he claims is a shot of Google Drive, which apparently has activated early for him. Unfortunately the reader didn’t give many details about the experience but he did say that he saw an option to install Google Drive. It’s not clear what it is you’ll be installing but possibilities include a Google Chrome app or a desktop app which will work sort of like href=”http://www.dropbox.com/” rel=”homepage” target=”_blank” title=”Dropbox”>DropBox in that it acts just like a real folder on your computer.
I know a lot of Android fans already use Dropbox or Box, but it will be nice to have another cloud storage option that could be deeply integrated into Android devices and Google’s other services. Be on the lookout for an official announcement in the coming days.
