When Google launched the Google Play Editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, everyone was confused whether Google would be rolling out the updates in these editions in line to the nexus updates or not. Now the confusion has almost disappeared.
Now not much time has passed away, and the update for KitKat Android 4.4 for HTC One Google Play Edition, is almost ready. The company has confirmed that official 4.4 KitKat ROM for the device has been fully developed, and also submitted to Google. It’s now on Google to approve the firmware and start rolling out the updates to the Google Play Edition HTC One devices.
It wouldn’t take too long, however there is no time limit set yet. The 4.4 KitKat brings Project Svelte performance optimizations, bigger and better User Interface icons, the widgets from the app drawer have been removed, new Hangouts app for SMS/MMS/GTalk, and the email app has also been furnished. The phone app, and the contacts app have changed. The Status bar is transparent, and many other user interface changes.
Though Samsung is also yet to announce whether when would the update to Galaxy S4 GPE would be in frame, but it also would not take too long. SO HTC One GPE users keep that Wi-Fi On, and keep searching for updates.
